Sneak Peek

I was really chuffed to be asked by Sue over at Crafty Stash to design for two of her kits, the first kit that I used was American Crafts Backyard. The papers are really fun with lots of pictures that can be cut out and used to make your own embellishments.

Sarah and Lianne over at Sarahs Cards sent me the September kit to play with last week, it is full of gorgeous Cosmo Cricket early bird papers and lots of other goodies!! I thougth you might like to see a little sneak peek of the kit.

Leftovers.

Quite a while ago Lee over at Scrapbook magazine asked me if I could write an article about using up your leftover stash. I think this was my favourite article that I have done so far, it really made me think about what I throw away and made me look at my stash in a different way. Here are two of the layouts that I did to go with the article.

So Proud.....Last year Emily won the overall prize for high achievement in her year group, we were so proud of her. I used a lot of my May scrapagogo kit on this layout.
Rebecca and Eleanor were very colour co-ordinated on this day so I had to get them to come out into the garden for a few photos!! I was looking through my stash to see what leftover bits I had to use up and saw the cover of the Fancy Pants notebook, it made the perfect photo matt!

So Busy

The last two weeks have certainly been action packed!! It has been great spending time all together, something that doesn't seem to happen very often nowadays. We wanted to go away somewhere so ended up booking to go to a Haven site in Devon, we had never been to a Haven before and so we were a bit dubious but we all had a great time. It was helped by the fact that we had brilliant weather!! Both girls really enjoyed the activities that they did especially the Water Walkers which were so funny to watch.

The girls had a go at the jousting, it was actually quite high up and Rebecca wasn't that keen (even though she loves climbing!!) It was really funny watching them and lovely to see them having fun together.

We went into Exmouth one night and found a lovely Chinese restaurant, the food was great!!

Rebecca in the water walker, this was her second time and she had mastered standing up and just about getting the ball moving. They both did really well, I couldn't have been zipped up inside there!
The day after we came back from Haven we went up to Paultons Park, it was a great day out and the rides were actually quite good. Justin and Rebecca went on the Go karts, Justin got very competitive!!

I have been enjoying doing some scrapping this week too, I started this layout before we went away, it is a scraplift of a layout in Augusts scrapbook trends. I love these papers, I am not usually a bit fan of K&Co but these Charlotte papers are such a beautiful muted collection I have used them on 3 layouts so far.

I really like the corrogated card on this layout, it is so easy to use as well just tear off a section of a pizza box, rip of part of the top paper layer and then paint on the covered sections that you are left with. I think it adds great texture to a page.

Sunny Portland!

My favourite day on our holiday to Hong Kong was without a doubt our trip to Lantau Island, the Po Lin Buddha and the Wisdom Path. It was so different and felt miles away from the hussle and bussle of the Hong Kong streets. We walked from the Buddha for about 15 minutes until we came to the Wisdom Path which is a series of prayers carved into wooden planks. It was so tranquil and the setting was beautiful of course helped by the blue sky and hot sunshine!

I seem to be using a lot of Crate Paper lately, expecially the Lillian range, I just love the colours. I am really trying to find different ways of creating places to journal, I often struggle to include journaling on my pages because I don't like to see my writing. I bought these stamps at Ally Pally in April and matting them together gave me quite a good little area to document my thoughts.

I used my new alphabet stamps from Hobby Craft on this layout, I am really pleased with them and for £5 they were a real bargin!!

Rebecca and I went for a lovey walk this morning along the cliffs, I am always so amazed at how beautiful Portland is I feel really lucky to have this literally on my doorstep.

Ong Kong!!

This is the second photo that I have scrapped from Hong Kong, I have never done a whole album on one theme but I am really enjoying documenting our China experience. I used the passport papers that I bought at Hobby Craft last week, on the back of the paper pack it gave you two layout ideas, I used one as a starting point for this layout. I have added the ticket that I got from The Peak into the postcard pocket.
I took the layout outside to photograph, when I got it inside again Rebecca said "Mum why have you called your layout Ong Kong?" My H had fallen off and blown into the only little puddle in the whole garden!!
