Too Much Spending!!

I have been deserted by my husband for 12 days, he has flown off to China to visit a friend who has been working out there for just over a year. He went last year and I seem to remember thinking then, never again, but here we are doing it again!!! Anyway he is having a whale of a time and has visited some amazing places. I have missed him like crazy and will be so glad to see him on Sunday night when he gets back although sadly he has to start back to work on Monday late shift.

Guilin one of the places he has visited. It just looks absolutley stunning, sorry the photo is so small.

Life has been very hectic since he has been gone, the Sister has been away on holiday so I have been in charge at work. We had an eventful time with all the snow, we had four patients left stranded with us at the end of the day last Friday and had to admit one in the end as we just couldn't get him home. I ended up slipping and sliding across Dorchester to the train station to get home as I couldn't drive my car. Definitley a day to remember!! Oh yes also because of all the rain we had a major water leak at work and the works department had to pull half the ceiling down. It never rains but pours.....literally!!

On the retreat that I went on a few weeks ago I used a cricut for the first time, I was hooked and I am now the proud owner of a cricut expressions! Both the girls have loved using it and have made welcome home cards for Justin. It took me a while to decide to take the plunge and buy one purely due to the cost but bit the bullet in the end and did it. I seem to have spent rather a lot on scrapping lately. Sarah is expecting some gorgeous new stash in the shop from CHA so I am going to wait until she has all of it in and then make myself choose! Two of the ranges that I definitley "need" are Crate Paper and Fancy Pants, they are just gorgeous!

I haven't had much time for scrapping and the time I have had has been used doing a project that I can't share but will be published in the near future :)

I was asked to be a guest designer for Scrapagogo for one month and that has gone live now so I can show you one of my LOs. I loved using the kit and it was a challange as I wasn't allowed to use any of my own stash.

My favourite layout of the ones that I created for Scrapagogo.

Recharged Batteries

At the weekend I went down to Sidmouth to the Sidholme Hotel to the scrapaholics retreat, it was fantastic!! I knew two of the girls, Jill and Linda as we are all on the same UKS team. All of the girls were just so lovely I felt at home straight away. The hotel was a big old house built around the mid 1800's I think, it did seem to be stuck in a time warp but that just added to the enjoyment of the weekend as I really felt that I had stepped out of the rat race.....bliss!! It was so lovely not to have to think about the cooking, cleaning and sorting the kids, I could have stayed all week.
I managed to get quite a bit of scrapping done although I wasn't quite as productive as some, too much chatting probably!!

The hotel entrance hall.

The chapel which was inside the house, it had the most gorgeous windows.

One of the windows and me!

On the Sunday morning a few of us decided to go down to the sea which was only a 10 minute walk, it was freezing cold and the sea was very rough. We walked along a narrow path with a cliff on one side and the sea on the other, it was definitley a case of dodge the crashing waves!! Jill and Linda didn't quite manage to dodge one particular wave and their legs got rather wet.

Jill running the gauntlet!!

Lisa getting a bit worried!!

Jill and Linda after their encounter with the wave!

The three blooming pages girls
I did 5 layouts in total which isn't bad for me, I'm not the fastest scrapper in the south west! Jill gave me a demo on a cricut, I had never seen one being used before so it was really good to have a play and I have to say I am converted and now absolutley need one!! Justin has said that I can buy one but I am struggling to part with the cash at the moment, I know that isn't like me. I want to get the cricut expression and I have seen a good package deal for £389 and then I also want to get the deep cut blade and storybook cartridge so it would all come to about £450 which is a lot of money even when you say it quickley!!!
